J.K. Rowling has honored “Harry Potter” actor Robert Hardy, who died on Thursday at 91. Hardy played the role of Minister of Magic Cornelius Fudge.
“So very sad to hear about Robert Hardy,” Rowling said on Twitter Thursday. “He was such a talented actor and everybody who worked with him on Potter loved him.”
Chris Rankin, who played Percy Weasley, Ron Weasley’s brother and Fudge’s assistant in the series, also tweeted out a message: “BBC news tells me Robert Hardy, the Minister of Magic has died. Terribly sad. He was a very kind man who told wonderful stories. xx”

Hardy’s death was confirmed by his children Emma, Justine and Paul, The Guardian reported Thursday.
“Gruff, elegant, twinkly, and always dignified, he is celebrated by all who knew him and loved him, and everyone who enjoyed his work,” they said in a joint statement.
Among his other famous roles were that of Winston Churchill (on multiple occasions), and as senior vet Siegfried Farnon on the classic British TV series, “All Creatures Great and Small,” based on James Herriot’s beloved novels.
