Ryall replaced Peter Cartwright as Elphias Doge on 2010’s “Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows Part 1.” Elphias, Dumbledore’s (Michael Gambon) schoolmate. “Harry Potter” fans will remember that Elphias wrote an obituary of Dumbledore for The Daily Prophet and openly defended Dumbledore’s integrity.
In addition to “Deathly Hallows,” Ryall’s numberous film credits include 2008’s “City of Ember,” 2004’s “Around the World in 80 Days” and “The Elephant Man” in 1980.
His television credits include ITV’s “Midsomer Murders” (pictured above) in 2009, BBC One comedy “Outnumbered,” BBC’s “The Village,” “The Singing Detective” and the miniseries “House of Cards,” which was adapted for U.S. audiences by Netflix.
The actor started out in theater and would go on to appear in numerous productions from some of Britain’s greatest theater companies, including Laurence Olivier‘s company with the National Theatre and the Royal Shakespeare Company.
In addition to Charlie, Ryall had one son, music manager Jonathan Ryall, and one other daughters, singer Imogen Ryall.

Two-time Oscar winner Luise Rainer died Tuesday, Dec. 30 from pneumonia. She took home the top actress trophies in 1936 and 1937 for her roles on "The Great Ziegfeld" and "The Good Earth," respectively. She was 104.

The actor played Nels Oleson on the NBC series – which ran from 1974 to 1983 — and recurred in “Little House” specials in following years. Prior to his stint on that show, Bull played Doc on the ABC series “Voyage to the Bottom of the Sea.”
Bull was a fixture as a character actor in TV movies and miniseries throughout the 1980s, and most recently appeared on the Starz political drama “Boss.”

Dawson’s body was found at around 11:20 a.m. in her apartment. The residence was scheduled to go up for auction at noon. A Morton and Morton real estate agent found the body when he arrived to inspect the property ahead of the auction. Police confirmed that there were no suspicious circumstances to the death.
